From now until 30 June, Butter Cookies is serving its freshly baked, classic all-American cookies at luxury hotel The Upper House. Spring has sprung and so has a new pop-up location from Butter. From the little online bakery-that-could, Butter is making its mark in luxury hotel The Upper House. Butter is built on nostalgia, and its ethos is simple: all-American classics, using technical baking principles and executed with a lot of love, and butter, of course.
Anchored by Butter’s signature neon diner sign, The Upper House pop-up emphasizes a streamlined aesthetic of smooth surfaces, curved corners, and horizontal lines reminiscent of nostalgic roadside diners. Best paired with milk as mom intended, the pop-up includes an accompanying exclusive-to-The Upper House milk bar
Salisterra X Butter Cookies Afternoon Tea
Butter Cookies extends to the 49th floor with an Americana-inspired afternoon tea by Chef Karys Plaxe and Chef Cary Docherty, Executive Chef of The Upper House. Butter Cookies’ exclusive Mini Chocolate Chip cookie and Lemon Crinkle cookie is complemented by Cary’s take on iconic American treats. Adding a local twist to the menu, the Reuben comprises char siu rather than pastrami, while the lobster roll gets a fiery kick thanks to Sichuan peppercorns. Meanwhile, the beloved beef dip sandwich gets a makeover with melt-in-your-mouth tendon, as barbecue duck elevates the classic Club. American dessert favourites pecan pie and spiced carrot cake pair perfectly with Cary’s childhood favorite, the Canadian butter tart.
