The Tree That Lives On

Crafted by multidisciplinary design studio EDITECTURE, The Tree That Lives On is made with 38,600 plastic bottles, using 100% reusable and 100% recyclable materials, and zero wastage. The 3.6-metre-tall tree is composed of 38,600 discarded plastic bottles and upcycled glass, which have been shredded and melted into sparkling orbs that resemble glittering Christmas ornaments. It is created to last beyond the festive season, transforming into 21 pieces of beautiful custom-designed furniture – one eight-person table, eight chairs, one four-person table, four sets of stools, four side tables, two lamps and a coffee table.

In keeping with the season’s spirit of giving, the designer furniture pieces will be available for auction, with all proceeds benefiting a charity in Hong Kong that supports underprivileged families living in subdivided flats. Please send your bids to kristina@upperhouse.com before 3 January 2023.
