BASAO x THE HOUSE COLLECTIVE

To pay homage the unique and significant element of Chinese tea culture, The House Collective collaborates with BASAO, a local tea brand to embark on a tea journey with our guests around the spirit of gung fu tea – harmony, respect, sophistication and joy. Uniquely inspired by the location of our four Houses, the tea experiences reflect the colourful stories of the cities and wishes every traveller a blessed Chinese New Year through a peaceful, relaxing journey.

Shanghai is a metropolis with a unique urban identity, given its favourable geographic location on the estuary of the Yangtze River. Echoing the theme “harmony”, our House features the one-of-a-kind oolong Bai Ya Qi Lan with a delicate orchard fragrance. Chef de Cuisine Tony Ye from Sui Tang Li and Head Bartender Rachel Yuan from Café Gray Deluxe showcase their creativity with the use of Bai Ya Qi Lan and other BASAO teas on dishes and drinks. From now till 13 March, BASAO will also take over The Shop at the lobby for guests to purchase BASAO’s products in this tea journey.

To celebrate the new year, we have also invited our close friends for the preview of the tea-inspired menu and drinks on 12 and 13 January. We’ve all bonded through the appreciation of tea and cheers to the fortune and happiness bringing to us in the Year of Rabbit.
